Claude Code founding member Cat Wu departs Anthropic after two years
_catwu · x · 2026-11-04
Cat Wu announced her last day at Anthropic. Two years ago she had Claude Code, then a small internal tool, build an RL environment—steering it for tens of hours without writing a line of code herself—which hooked her into joining the team.
She notes how usage evolved: at launch most users approved every permission prompt manually and used Claude mainly for Q&A and tests; today auto-approval is the default and Claude handles large migrations and new product builds. She thanked the teams behind Claude Code, Cowork, and Tag.
