Reddit user finds Hermes Agent bloated, seeks lightweight agent for Linux sysadmin work
mrazster · reddit · 2026-11-04
After 4-5 months with local LLMs, the poster spent 3-4 weeks on Hermes Agent and found most time went into setup, writing skills, and preventing mistakes rather than actual use. Hermes feels bloated with a huge number of skills and heavy to run. They want a lightweight agent with an on-demand skill repository, a clean GUI, and sensible settings for Linux sysadmin, system maintenance, networking, and light coding/bash scripting, and ask the community whether a "best agent" exists for this use case.
