Corebrum OS: open-source Physical AI OS now installable on NVIDIA Jetson and any Ubuntu machine
chrismatthieu · x · 2026-11-04
Corebrum OS is an open-source "Physical AI operating system," inspired by OpenAI's Omarchy, built on Ubuntu with AI agents baked in, running on x86-64, ARM64, and NVIDIA Jetson devices.
- Architecture: Corebrum RealSense and Synapse give agents full control of physical bodies (wheels, legs, arms); a Skills system adds custom behavior and more deterministic control; Corebrum Cloud is the control plane for fleet management, teleop, remote services, skill distribution, navigational mapping, and memory.
- Install: disable GNOME and run the install script; supports Ubuntu Desktop and Jetson (plus ARM64 devices like Raspberry Pi on Ubuntu Server 24.04/26.04 LTS).
- Desktop: Phase 2 ships a keyboard-driven Sway/Wayland session with Waybar, Kitty, Fuzzel, gtklock, and a custom greeter.
