mitsuhiko shows off djs REPL: serializing VM state as readable JavaScript dumps
mitsuhiko · x · 2026-11-04
mitsuhiko demonstrates djs (a Rust-based JS REPL) with .dump wat.js: it serializes the VM's bindings—variables, closures, enums—into a readable JavaScript dump file, which .restore loads into a fresh VM with closure state intact (a counter continues from 43 to 46). A JS-file alternative to traditional heap dumps for snapshotting and migrating live state.
