franken_doppler_finder: locate recordings by matching propeller Doppler curves to ADS-B flight tracks
doodlestein · x · 2026-11-04
doodlestein shares the in-development open-source frankendopplerfinder (fdop), written in pure Rust. Feed it a recording, its date, and a rough US region: it extracts inaudible propeller-aircraft signals, fits their Doppler shift curves, and matches them against archived ADS-B flight tracks to geolocate and timestamp the recording. Tags span audio forensics, OSINT, and privacy — a novel acoustic-forensics workflow with real OSINT implications.
