STOC submissions include dueling P=NP and P!=NP proofs; blogger bets both wrong
thegautamkamath · x · 2026-11-04
Theoretical computer scientist Gautam Kamath shares STOC submission trivia: paper #488 claims to prove P = NP while paper #872 claims P ≠ NP — "at least one is wrong! (My wager: both)." Stats: 339 solo-author submissions, 286 authors with at least one solo paper, about half never having published at STOC/FOCS/SODA before. Best title award goes to #1746, "Canada Retravelled."
