Karpathy's "vibe coding" post hailed as a shoo-in for the test-of-time award
MillionInt · x · 2026-11-04
MillionInt quotes Karpathy's original "vibe coding" post and comments it deserves the test-of-time award.
In the quoted post, Karpathy describes fully giving in to the vibes and forgetting the code exists: using Cursor Composer with Sonnet plus SuperWhisper voice input, barely touching the keyboard, always hitting "Accept All" without reading diffs, and pasting error messages back verbatim until things work — with the code growing beyond his own comprehension.
The post became one of the most influential expressions of AI coding culture, and "vibe coding" is now industry vocabulary.
