PanoTac: a dense three-axis tactile sensor letting robots feel when a stopper releases
Haoyu_Xiong_ · x · 2026-11-04
Researchers introduce PanoTac, a dense three-axis tactile sensor, tackling the question of what tactile representation manipulation actually needs. In the demo, a robot reorients and inserts a tube, then wiggles a stopper free while the tube sits loosely in the rack; the accompanying tactile signals let the robot detect when the stopper releases and when to switch from wiggling to lifting.
