Tesla Robotaxi registrations nearly catch Waymo in Texas DMV fleet data
_AustinCalvert_ · x · 2026-11-04
danheld shares a Fleet Growth chart built from daily TxDMV registered-vehicle data: Tesla Robotaxi climbed from 100 vehicles in June to nearly 1,250 by late October, almost matching Waymo (1,260), while Avride sits at 340 and Zoox, Nuro, and May Mobility remain far behind.
He argues Tesla is about to flip Waymo and that people once again can't think in exponentials—the fleet could be 10-100x larger before most notice.
