Open-source open-genjutsu swaps video performers with Seedance or Wan, undercutting $150/mo apps

Developer Anil-matcha released open-genjutsu and the 4x-cheaper Genjutsu Lite — a local-first, MIT-licensed tool to recast performers in short videos using Seedance 2.5 or Wan 3.0, taking aim at paid video-cloning apps charging $150/month. The project has 1k+ GitHub stars and 205 forks.
Workflow: generate a draft take for review, require explicit HD approval before export, restore the source soundtrack in the final MP4, and keep all media on-device. Both model paths share Muapi-based preparation stages for depth, environment, character, and prompt references; built with FastAPI + ffmpeg and self-hostable.
