Spool, a Free ComfyUI Video Editor, Adds Draft-to-2K, Shot Extension and Recast
Apprehensive-Ad7442 · reddit · 2026-11-03
Developer doubletwisted released a major update to Spool, a free open-source video editor built for ComfyUI, designed to manage large volumes of AI video generations and running fully locally:
- Draft & Final: generate quick drafts, scrub through them, and turn a selected draft into a 2K final with the same motion but sharper (powered by NVIDIA's Open-H3-Regenerate-2K)
- Extend: right-click a shot to continue it, carrying on the camera move instead of restarting from a still
- Recast: swap the person in a shot while keeping set, camera, movement and sound (built on Bambushu's H3 Recast workflow and NRDX's face-swap LoRA)
The screenshot shows a full timeline editor, multi-take management, local + cloud workflows (LTX 2.5 and MiniMax H3 templates), and audio tracks. Repo: github.com/doubletwisted/ComfyUI-Spool, with an online demo.
