Dev open-sources faster-chrome-devtools-skill after analyzing 2,500 agent uses
simpsoka · x · 2026-11-03
Developer zeke shared his daily workflow of automating a logged-in Chrome window from Pi (plus Claude and Codex) via a Chrome DevTools skill, then shipped fixes based on an analysis of his last 2,500 uses across hundreds of agent sessions.
The open-source faster-chrome-devtools-skill controls Chrome directly through the Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP) and works with Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex, Pi, or any coding agent supporting the Agent Skills protocol. Capabilities include listing/opening/reusing tabs, compact accessibility snapshots with stable element references, click and fill by reference or CSS selector, navigation with explicit timeouts, waiting on text/selectors instead of arbitrary sleeps, native CDP input into cross-origin frames, compressed JPEG/WebP screenshots, and console/network failure inspection.
