Neo4j GraphRAG Python package defaults to CPU-only PyTorch wheels to cut install overhead
JeremyCMorgan · x · 2026-11-03
Neo4j's official GraphRAG Python package (1.3k GitHub stars) now defaults to CPU-only PyTorch wheels, significantly reducing install size and setup friction for applications that don't need GPU inference.
The package is a first-party library for building graph retrieval-augmented generation (GraphRAG) apps with Neo4j and Python. As the author puts it, sometimes the best developer-experience improvement is simply removing dependencies.
