Let your coding agent interview you before it plans: a practical Claude Code workflow
bhartsb · reddit · 2026-11-03
A beginner-friendly Claude Code tip: before planning or building, switch to plan mode and have the agent interview you one question at a time — covering audience, definition of done, existing assets, constraints and out-of-scope items — until it can write a one-page brief you'd sign, saved as BRIEF.md before planning. Key points: one question at a time, write down how you'll verify completion, and explicitly list exclusions. Later requests get checked against the brief and triaged as in-scope, extension, or direction change.
