spaCy makers launch Ellf, a virtual NLP engineer, free for solo devs
honnibal · x · 2026-11-03
The team behind spaCy and Prodigy launched Ellf, positioned as a "virtual NLP engineer" that plugs into coding assistants like Claude Code, adding an execution layer, annotation tooling, and knowledge from a decade of NLP work.
Key capabilities: breaking business problems into project plans, distilling LLMs into smaller private task-specific models, data preparation and exploration, agent-assisted labeling, and QA/evaluation. A Jev project template helps you get started, and data stays fully private.
A free Solo plan is now available for solo developers working locally.
