PSA for Vibecoders: Playwright Bundles Vulnerable Chromium, Sandbox Off by Default
Kyrannio · x · 2026-11-03
@nisten issues a security PSA: if you let coding agents run naked on your laptop without containers, tell your agents to delete Playwright now. Even the latest 1.64.1 bundles an early Chromium 156 with four CVEs (2026-118306 / 118331 / 118348 / 118344), and the Playwright sandbox is off by default — combining known vulnerabilities with no sandboxing in an agent-driven browser.
