Diamandis: Anthropic's Public Benefit Fund lets ordinary people own a piece of AI
PeterDiamandis · x · 2026-11-03
Peter Diamandis argues ordinary Americans will get to own a piece of the AI economy.
- Anthropic filed its S-1 under ticker ANT, with reported valuation between $1.5T and $2T
- On Oct 18 it announced a Public Benefit Fund seeded with 5% of shares (pending stockholder approval), plus 2% more at board discretion per 50% rise above baseline
- Combined with Musk's gift of one SpaceX share per US child (72M × $146, $10.5B) and Dell's $6.25B gift, these add up to only about two days of America's paychecks ($15.7T/year in wages and benefits)
- His bet: compounding ownership, modeled on Alaska's Permanent Fund ($91.9B since 1977), is the path forward
