AI research may be the single best LLM-accelerated job, argues alex_peys
alex_peys · x · 2026-11-03
alexpeys argues AI research/early product work is a near-perfect fit for LLMs: repos are independent and short-lived, there are clear metrics to push up or down, no physical component, and orgs are AI-first and fast-moving — so practitioners get accelerated so much they wrongly assume everyone else benefits equally. In reality it's an outlier job.
In the quoted reply he also criticizes how the AI community made discussing model shortfalls low-status, treating scrutiny as evidence of not being 'AGI pilled,' which obscures the genuinely interesting spikiness of model capabilities.
