Anthropic S-1 filing: may imminently cross its RSP threshold for AI-driven accelerated progress
kimmonismus · x · 2026-11-03
In an amended S-1 filed this morning, Anthropic disclosed that internal estimates and expectations regarding future models — not current ones — indicate it "may imminently meet" its Responsible Scaling Policy's definition of "dramatically accelerated progress attributable to AI." No current model has been designated as exceeding the threshold, and the company notes such acceleration is measured via lagging indicators, so it has previously failed to identify it until after the fact. Anthropic warns capabilities could outpace safety, alignment and security measures, raising risks of safety incidents, regulatory intervention and reputational harm; it has previously delayed releases (Mythos via Project Glasswing) and may impose further measures that slow capability gains and affect revenue versus competitors. Further reports will follow per its RSP commitments.
