Hacker hijacks Samsung TV remote mic with an ESP32C3 for local voice control
ngxson · x · 2026-11-02
Developer ngxson reports using an ESP32C3 to intercept voice recordings from a Samsung TV remote, fully cutting the TV off from its mic — "I own the mic now!"
Next step is wiring it into Home Assistant for local voice control. Fallback plan: use an ESP32 as a BLE man-in-the-middle (remote ↔ ESP32 ↔ TV) if the remote can't be modified directly. He's working through feasibility with GLM, noting it should work unless something at the hardware level blocks it.
