Siemens explains what it sells robotics companies: 1 in 3 factories runs on it
lukas_m_ziegler · x · 2026-11-02
At NVIDIA GTC, Siemens' Rahul Garg gave the clearest breakdown yet of Siemens' role in robotics: one in three factories worldwide is designed, built, managed, or supported by Siemens. For robotics companies scaling from one pilot to a fleet, Siemens offers:
- Digital genesis: design, engineer, and virtually validate a new robot before it exists
- Autonomous production: build robots at scale the way Siemens helped automotive build cars
- Coexistence loop: digitally evaluate how a humanoid fits alongside people and existing automation before it arrives on site
The author's takeaway: everyone is working on robot intelligence; far fewer are thinking about what happens once it works—manufacturing ten thousand units at automotive-grade quality, with the supply chain that entails.
