Purser: an MCP server that lets agents pay with smart-contract limits a jailbreak can't bypass
Plane-Preference6245 · reddit · 2026-11-02
A developer open-sourced Purser, an MCP server that gives AI agents a wallet, with a key design choice: spending limits live in a smart contract, not in the prompt — so even a jailbroken agent can't exceed them.
- Each payment returns one of three outcomes: done (with remaining budget), waiting for the owner (with a request id), or refused (with a reason the model can act on)
- Demo runs with a single docker run command and connects via claude mcp add; asking Claude to "pay the merchant 0.3 ETH" surfaces the approval request in the console
- Early stage, unaudited, local/testnet only; MIT licensed
