Claude agent picked a gene therapy and injected it into a live mouse's brain
mark_k · x · 2026-11-02
At startup Exin Therapeutics, a Claude Sonnet 5 agent selected one of 19 gene therapies, chose the brain region and exact coordinates, then operated the injection rig on a live mouse's brain; a vet opened the skull and held a kill switch. Opus 5.5 refused the live injection, and when rerun with GPT-6.1 Sol and Grok 4.7, each model picked a different region and mechanism. No results yet, and none of it is peer-reviewed.
