State-diagram skill for Claude Code: project memory turns gotchas into explicit flow conditions
DJIRNMAN · reddit · 2026-11-01
The author added a state-diagram skill to MEX, an open-source project-memory tool for Claude Code and Codex. Unlike plain Mermaid output, MEX injects recorded project decisions and gotchas into diagrams with inspectable code references.
Demoed on MEX's own setup/recovery flow: a project note surfaced a subtle case — rebuilding the CLI while an old setup process runs removes a module it references, and Retry doesn't refresh cached imports, so recovery requires a fresh CLI process while reusing prepared files; the diagram spells out those conditions.
Diagrams are available in-conversation or in a local Hub with transitions, conditions, and evidence; TLA+/TLC checks are supported. Repo: github.com/mex-memory/mex
