OpenDuet open-sources proactive agents that start on their own but wait for one click
Arindam_1729 · x · 2026-11-01
Developer Arindam shared the OpenDuet repo with a long explainer on proactive agents: unlike traditional assistants that wait for a prompt, proactive agents trigger themselves from timers or app signals—e.g., by 8 AM the agent has already read your inbox and flagged that Maya needs the Series A deck. He argues the best proactive agents still wait for one click before executing, autonomously surfacing tasks but leaving confirmation to the user. The OpenDuet repo is brand new with zero stars.
