Jepsen audit finds 96 issues in vibe-coded ParticleDB, "Full ACID" claims premature

- Kyle Kingsbury's Jepsen audit of ParticleDB (v1.1.4–1.1.18.11.rc-22), a multi-model database for AI workloads, found 96 issues: crashes, deadlocks, data loss, plus bizarre bugs like partially-invisible undeletable rows, WHERE 4 = 5 evaluating true, dropped tables re-emerging distorted, and strings turning into integers.
- Most issues reproduced with a single server, single client, and no faults. Even at serializable isolation, ParticleDB still lost committed writes under the default occ mode and allowed internal anomalies and Lost Update.
- Context: a company confidently handed this vibe-coded database to Jepsen for testing at HPTS. The report's LLM tradeoffs section warns that "signals we used to rely on as markers of a mature system are now easier to counterfeit." Orkes has since shipped 1.1.19-rc.13 claiming all remaining issues are fixed.
