Solo dev ships Pokemon-like autobattler built almost entirely with Claude Code
columbus3d · reddit · 2026-11-01
A solo developer's Pokemon-style roguelite autobattler Tinymon Tactics is now in Steam playtest, built over 1 year mostly with Claude Code. React + TypeScript + Electron, modular content files, a CLAUDE.md map of the codebase, and 500+ test files gating every commit enable fearless refactors. The hardest part was art: AI image models ignore layout, fixed by having Claude draw flat layout guides for the generator to paint over. Key lesson: Claude can build any mechanic but can't judge whether the game is fun or balanced.
