MCP App builds live backtest 'circuit cards' where each strategy block lights up
Just-Pomegranate-952 · reddit · 2026-11-01
A developer built an MCP server for backtesting platform QuanterLab, featuring a live "circuit card" UI:
- The model assembles strategies from the lab's blocks via buildcircuit / circuitstep / runcircuit, or runs ready-made ones with starttest.
- The circuit card is an MCP App (a ui:// resource) that draws nodes and wires, polls an app-only tool for block completion, and lights them in order — the poll is invisible to the model.
- On completion, the same card shows results vs. buy-and-hold, charts, yearly tables, and taps inject the exact next call into model context so a tap is one precise tool call.
- Library setups replay instantly; fresh runs stream progress.
- Egress is default-deny: per-tool whitelists, no raw price series leaves the server.
Works in Claude's directory; any client supporting remote OAuth MCP servers can connect. Free 30-day trial.
