45 minutes with Claude Code vs. months the old way, says data engineer
AndyLeonard · x · 2026-11-01
Data engineer AndyLeonard recounts his AI coding journey: after ChatGPT launched he tested whether an LLM could write code — "it could not. Not really, not reliably." That changed in March 2025, when with Claude Code he had the beginnings of Fabric Navigator (a free tool) running in 45 minutes, work he estimates would have taken months the old way. His team also publishes an enterprise-aligned AI-Assisted Data Engineering Development Playbook.
