Build a Bounded Control Loop to Keep AI Agents From Spinning
goyalshaliniuk · x · 2026-11-01
Opening of the harness-engineering thread: a powerful model doesn't automatically make a reliable agent — the harness around it (tools, context, memory, permissions, execution, feedback) does. Technique 1: build a bounded control loop — use a plan → act → observe → evaluate cycle, set iteration limits, timeouts, and clear stop conditions, detect repeated actions to prevent infinite loops, keeping agents moving toward completion without wasting resources.
