An Agent Saying 'Task Completed' Isn't Proof It Was Done Right
goyalshaliniuk · x · 2026-11-01
Continuation of the harness-engineering thread:
- Verification & evaluation: validate results against explicit requirements, run tests and independent checks before declaring completion, track real-world success rates. "An agent saying 'task completed' is not proof the task was completed correctly."
- Observability & recovery: record tool calls, decisions, errors, execution traces; track latency, token usage, costs; add retries, fallbacks, and human escalation. You must understand what happened inside an agent run before you can reliably improve it.
