Claude API raises request limit from 32MB to 128MB, image size cap to 3000px
FinanceYF5 · x · 2026-11-01
Anthropic raised the per-request limit for the Messages and Token Counting APIs from 32MB to 128MB, roughly a 4x increase. Requests with many images—such as long Computer Use sessions and large PDFs—previously hit the 32MB cap before exhausting the context window; such workloads can now send far more content in one call.
Additional changes: for requests containing more than 20 images, the per-image size limit rises from 2000px to 3000px. Note the 128MB limit applies only to Anthropic's first-party API; via other cloud platforms the request cap remains 20MB–32MB.
