Claude API raises per-request limit 4x from 32MB to 128MB, images up to 3000px
FinanceYF5 · x · 2026-11-01
Anthropic has raised the per-request limit for Claude API Messages and Token Counting endpoints from 32MB to 128MB — roughly 4x more capacity.
Requests with many images, such as long Computer Use sessions and large PDFs, previously hit the 32MB ceiling before exhausting the context window; they can now carry far more content in one call. For requests with 20+ images, the per-image size cap also rises from 2000px to 3000px. Note: the 128MB limit applies only to Anthropic's first-party API — requests via third-party cloud platforms remain capped at 20–32MB.
