Alma open-sources its Relay Server for self-hosted, end-to-end encrypted remote access
dotey · x · 2026-11-01
yetone has open-sourced alma-relay (MIT), letting users self-host the relay behind Alma Remote Access to control desktop Alma from their phone anywhere—no port forwarding, no VPN, no third party in between.
- Desktop dials out to the relay via outbound WSS; the phone connects over HTTPS/WSS, and the relay only ever sees ciphertext (end-to-end encrypted)
- One-click deploy on Cloudflare Workers (free tier suffices) or a single Docker command with automatic HTTPS
- Setup: Settings → Remote Access → use custom relay, then enter your relay address
