Engineer: AI PCB design doubled my workload — fixing its errors slower than doing it myself
cneuralnetwork · x · 2026-11-01
An electronics engineer reports that using AI for PCB design backfired: the tool doubled his workload, and he now spends more time fixing its mistakes than advancing his original design, still stuck at the schematic stage. His takeaway: unless you write very accurate, detailed prompts, the AI will wreck the design and slow you down — a counterpoint to the usual "AI boosts productivity" narrative in EDA.
