LangChain's Harrison Chase: new context engineering challenges as agents go proactive
hwchase17 · x · 2026-11-01
LangChain founder Harrison Chase published a new article on context engineering challenges in late 2026. Agent architecture has converged: an LLM running in a loop, calling tools, in a sandbox — Claude Code being the highest-profile manifestation. Content engineering challenges now have standard solutions, leading some engineers to call agent engineering solved. But as agents shift toward proactive, always-on, goal-oriented behavior, a new set of fun engineering challenges is emerging, set to gain momentum in coming months.
