Oxford/DeepMind survey: 75% would quit at full pay, UBI alone won't fix AI job losses

A new Oxford University and Google DeepMind paper surveys 8,234 working-age adults across the UK, US, Denmark and India. Only 26% work mainly for pay, while a third are motivated by the work itself; about 75% would quit if guaranteed their full wage, yet one in five would refuse even 120%. The authors argue UBI alone can't offset AI-driven job losses without protecting purpose, community and dignity at work.
