herdr hits YC and 32K followers in 5 months with durable terminal runtime for coding agents
Scobleizer · x · 2026-10-31
herdr went from launch to a YC batch and 32,000 followers in about five months by solving one problem: coding agents dying when you close your laptop. Its terminal runtime keeps agent panes running in tabs organized by projects, persisting via SSH to a VPS; third parties already built a Raycast extension, Stream Deck integration, and iOS app on its plugin marketplace.
Scobleizer notes it's the right but narrow problem: herdr makes a single session durable but doesn't referee multi-agent coordination (Claude Code, Codex, Goose on the same task), which Vercel's agent-desktop and OpenAI's Codex subagents are also attacking. herdr also announced an open-source herdr-core and a desktop app where every part is a file your agent can change, plus the Campfire collaborative web platform for AI coding agents.
