Users spotted signs that ChatGPT may be unifying its Chat and Work modes; blogger Tibo confirmed the change isn't live yet and is expected sometime this year.
The open question is how usage limits will be handled: Chat mode currently offers more generous usage, and it's unclear how quotas will be reconciled. The reposter koltregaskes says he has long tried routing Work-mode sessions through "companion" chat sessions to skirt limits, with mixed results. This could be A/B testing ahead of a formal change — heavy users should watch their effective quotas.
