Open-source Claude Code skill runs essays through research, drafting, revision, and fact-checking
Sadinha · reddit · 2026-10-31
A developer open-sourced JP Essay, a Claude Code skill that takes a question through research, outlining, drafting, revision, and fact-checking to produce one final essay. Inspired by Jordan Peterson's essay-writing guide and its emphasis on outlining and rewriting to clarify arguments.
Key design choices:
- Fresh AI reader: a separate agent reads the draft and reconstructs its argument from memory, surfacing unclear structure before revision
- Intermediate Markdown files: let you inspect how the essay evolved
Free to use; source and installation on GitHub (lucasbabur/jp-essay), site at jpessay.com. The author notes it's an independent project with no affiliation with Jordan Peterson.
