ChatGPT Daybreak Blue sessions may train OpenAI models even with training opt-out off
littmath · x · 2026-10-31
Mathematician Wes Pegden flagged a notification screenshot claiming that from November 29, ChatGPT personal-account users of "Daybreak Blue" access may have their session content used for model training — even when the "improve the model for everyone" setting is off. Daybreak usage requires enrolling in Advanced Account Security, which turns off the default training toggle, yet OpenAI says it will still use Daybreak interactions to strengthen safeguards against cyber misuse. Researchers in formal verification and similar fields handling sensitive code should take note. The claim is based on user screenshots; OpenAI has not publicly responded.
