Marco Arment launches Fineliner, a playful handwriting notebook app with no subscriptions or ads

Overcast developer Marco Arment released Fineliner, a handwriting notebook app for iPad and iPhone. Its playful twist: you draw the app's interface yourself and can even turn your handwriting into a custom font exported as TTF.
Features include all-vector drawing, layers with shape recognition, handwriting search, real-time collaboration, and Face ID-locked notebooks, with export to SVG/PDF/images.
The business model is deliberately simple: free private iCloud sync, unlimited notebooks, and one-time family-shared purchases for extra colors, pen widths, and templates — no ads, subscriptions, or accounts. Rated 4.8 on the App Store.
