Meta deliberately dumbed down its central AI agent to route 20+ workflows to 14 specialists
Meta_Engineers · x · 2026-10-31
Meta engineers describe how an all-knowing central AI agent — trained on every schema and rule across 10+ data sources for recommendation systems — got worse as it learned more, mixing naming conventions across subsystems. Their fix: make the orchestrator intentionally dumb, doing zero domain reasoning and only routing 20+ workflows to 14 specialist agents. Result: config prep for a new data column dropped from 3–4 days by hand to under an hour.
