The Sims made $5B on watching chores—why agent software needs spatial dashboards
aakashgupta · x · 2026-10-31
Drawing on The Sims (85M players, $5B for EA), the author argues people happily watch chores—as long as someone else does them—and agent software keeps missing this. A study of 137 workers at three Fortune 500 firms found 1,200 app toggles a day and nearly four hours a week lost just reorienting, before everyone had fleets of agents. Once ten agents run concurrently, you can't manage them by reading ten transcripts; humans handle concurrent work spatially, like air traffic radar or NASA's mission control wall. Skydive launches a 3D office interface for agent teams, with tasks via Slack, email, iMessage or the web—free this week.
