JetBrains now bundles a free model, Junie lite, into its Junie CLI coding agent—no trial, always available, working directly on your repo. It handles cross-file renames, changelogs from commit history, test scaffolds, and doc updates. Setup takes 5 minutes: install the CLI, sign in with a JetBrains account, describe the task in plain English, then review and approve the diffs. Since the underlying model is small (currently Qwen 27B), the author advises reviewing output like a junior teammate's work—plan with a bigger model, hand routine execution to Junie.
