Sentry CEO pushes back: software businesses don't need $8M+ seed rounds to survive
zeeg · x · 2026-10-30
Responding to CodeRabbit CEO Harjot Gill's claim that even $8M+ seed rounds are no longer enough to build a software business and small startups are becoming idea funnels for bigger ones, Sentry CEO David Cramer counters: you can build a software company without AI, for $200/month, or by burning investor capital — nearly all of those go to zero, but the ones spending only sustainable capital have better odds. Software has always been easy to build, he argues; people need to stop convincing themselves otherwise.
