tallinzen argues AI-generated slides fail because inexperienced presenters dump everything onto slides and read it out, while proper prep means scripting what to say and putting only 3% of it on slides. Sewon Min adds that great talks are deeply intentional—what to say, omit, frame as a side note, when to pause—and a good speaker never really talks about a paper but about the story they want to tell, using the paper as support.
