DeepMind launches Economics of Intelligence program with Shane Legg to map how AGI transforms the economy

Google DeepMind economist Alex Olegimas, together with Andrew Koh and Shane Legg, has released "The Economics of Intelligence," the first project from a new research program on the economics of AGI.
- The framework defines thresholds of economic capability (e.g., "minimal AGI") based on how capability improvements transform the economy
- It then tracks how market structure, employment, and wages shift during transitions across capability regimes
- Coordination—long an underappreciated theme in the economics of firms and markets—is placed at the center of the analysis
