Arc: a 70 MB streaming speech model that does ASR and entity linking in one step
Working_Hat5120 · reddit · 2026-10-30
WhissleAI released Arc-Transcriber, a 70 MB streaming speech model that collapses the usual ASR→NER→entity-linking→LLM pipeline into one step. Every 100 ms it emits the transcript plus outputs from 200+ trained heads: names matched against a user-provided list (new names flagged), numbers with values, speaker roles, audio/channel events, and whether speech was addressed to an assistant — live fact-checking inside the stream, no second pass. Two variants (Arc mini on a moonshot encoder, Arc-v1 on parakeet) are open-sourced with weights and CLI, already running on-device in a Mac app for voice search over 61k books.
