ComfyUI Updater adds one-click Core and Frontend updates with rollback from the Settings dialog
Inuya5haSama · reddit · 2026-10-30
A Reddit user released the open-source ComfyUI Updater extension, adding a native "Settings → Updates" panel to ComfyUI to make Core and official Frontend updates less opaque — especially when updates take the UI offline and require an automatic restart.
Key features:
- Update ComfyUI Core and the official Frontend separately or together using the recommended tested version pair
- Show installed/latest versions and release dates; detect incompatible Core/frontend combos
- Lock the interface with clear status while an update runs
- Compare Python package compatibility before/after updating
- Recover from failed installations; optional automatic rollback on new dependency conflicts
It deliberately manages only Core and the Frontend — not custom nodes, models, workflows, CUDA, or drivers. Install via Extension Manager → Nodes Manager, search comfyui-updater, restart, and find it under Settings → Updates.
